Moored- to secure (a ship, boat, dirigible, etc.) in a particular place, as by cables and anchors or by lines.
At the lake I moored the boat because I was responsible to get it attached to the dock so that we could eat lunch.
This picture shows a boat tied up to the dock and securing in that place. The rope moors the boat and help it stay in place.
Implacability-not to be appeased, mollified, or pacified; inexorable.
The man’s implacability caused the teacher tho write him up a referral and suspend him form the class for three days.
This picture shows a bag that says I will not be pacified and that is being implacable. It it saying that the person will not be shut up just because you say so.
Transom-a crossbar of wood or stone, dividing a window horizontally.
The window was very large and had a big transom to help support the thin glass in the house.
The transom in this picture is very postmodern and is not a usual transom.
Stultifying-to make, or cause to appear, foolish or ridiculous.
The kid was stultifying himself in front of the crowd when he tried singing but could not sing.
This person appears to me to be very ridiculous and I don’t see the point to wrap yourself up in newspaper to pretend like it’s your face.
haberdasher-a retail dealer in men’s furnishings, as shirts, ties, gloves, socks, and hats.
The haberdasher at the local shop was trying to work his salesman ways on me to get me to buy shoes but i did not give in.
This is a store where a haberdasher would be found because they are selling hats and other items that a haberdasher would sell.
Convulsions-violent agitation or disturbance.
The guy who always brings the gun to parties always causes convulsions wherever he go.
The people in this riot are causing great disturbances in the community and the police are having to get violent with them.
propulsion-the act or process of propelling.
The jet propulion on the spaceship caused it to gain enough speed and break through the earths atmosphere.
The back of this submarine has some big fans that cause jet propulsion under water.
condolences-An expression or declaration of such sympathy.
Whenever his girlfriend has a bad day he condolences with her.
This picture shows much sympathy to somebody who seems to be upset because of a death.
Calligraphy-the art of writing beautifully.
As a young child I used to want to grow up and study calligraphy.
This is calligraphy that is redone on a computer and is just writing that is legible and that someone can read.
Sciatica-any painful disorder extending from the hip down the back of the thigh and surrounding area.
The man had a sciatica on his leg which prevented him from running.
I chose this picture because usually if somebody has a disorder on their leg or hips it means they cannot be active and run.
Emotions
Deplore : feel or express strong disapproval of (something)
When bill got caught using drugs, his parents were in great deplore.
This picture shows a man very disappointed and he looks like he is very angry. he doesn’t look sad or angry but disappointed.
Disconsolate : without consolation or comfort: unhappy
When the teen entered the party he felt disconsolate because it was all adults there.
This football player looks very unhappy because he probably lost a football game.
Distraught : deeply upset and agitated
The women was very distraught after the kid would not stop pulling her.
This picture shows a man who seems to be very upset and looks like he is crying.
Halcyon: happy; joyful; carefree
After winning the superbowl, the whole team was halcyon and couldn’t wait until next season.
This picture shows that the people are very happy including the dog and they are enjoying what they are doing.
Lachrymose: suggestive of or tending to cause tears; mournful
Everytime Jose’s ex-wife comes around, he gets lachrymose because he can’t stand seeing her.
This is a photo of the holocaust and when many people see this, they start to tear up because of how many people were killed.
Mercurial: animated; lively; sprightly; quick-witted
The girl in my first period class drank a cup of coffee and became very mercurial.
The girl in this picture looks very lively and if i saw her in real life, she would probably be an animated person.
Revel: to make merry; indulge in boisterous festivities
At christmas uncle Bill reveled the party to make it more enjoyable for everybody there.
This picture shows revel because many people are partying and make the party merry. The party seems to have high spirits and everybody indulging in the party.
Tirade: a prolonged outburst of bitter, outspoken denunciation
Johnny went on a tirade because he kept on getting made fun of.
This picture shows a man getting really mad and in an outburst that he has probably been holding back.
Trauma: a body wound or shock produced by sudden physical injury, as from violence or accident
The experience of being diagnosed with cancer caused great trauma mentally to the young child.
This picture shows trauma because a kid seems like he is unable to get of something and traumatized by something. Usually people get traumatized through very bad accidents.
Vex: to irritate; annoy; provoke
The person sitting behind me at the basketball game vexxed many people because he was yelling so loud.
This guy is irritating other people and seems to be very annoying with what he is doing.
